Speedy Recovery

A quick, happy update for the concerned emails I received.

The pain may have been from my fall, but the bump was a conveniently located cyst! Am I really posting this? Anyways, it was getting infected and I'm glad I visited the doctor this morning. He took a needle and removed it. Painful, but tolerable. I completed the visit in espanol and only a few words were exchanged in English.

Now, with pain meds and antibiotics, I'm on to a speedy and painless recovery. I'm headed to Lago de Atitlan and the surrounding villages. Through a friend of a friend, I plan to volunteer at a children's library. I hope to help kids with craft projects and work on a teacher training day.

With my small fiasco, I've had lots of support from the locals and other tourists. I ran into a trio I met in Costa Rica a month ago and they were extremely helpful. It is amazing how you sometimes see people again! We will hopefully cross paths up north this next week as well!
